Dylan Lancaster has Type 1 Diabetes, but it does not have him.

Dylan was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) at the age of five (5). He discovered Diabetic Alert Dogs (DADs) at the age of nine (9). Thereafter he realized he could own a dog. He thought that he shouldn’t be the only child with this opportunity.

Dylan believes that money should not be an obstacle to getting potentially life-saving help. So, Dylan and his parents started a non-profit…Dylan’s Dogs for Diabetes (DCubed)

Dylan's devoted to improving others lives by helping them aquire a Diabetic Alert Dog. DCubed is here to offer support. DCubed has helped place 17 DADS across the U.S. with clients from age two (2) to fifty-two (52).

DCubed continues to raise funds to support people with T1D by providing general support, help with diabetic supplies, and the purchase and training of DADs.

Meet Lillian

Dcubed Operations Manager

Lillian is the mastermind behind most DCubed activities, promotions, network and fundraising events. Lil’s typically out-front promoting DCubes efforts and is a lifelong accomplished public speaker. Lillian serves on the board of directors for DCubed (Dylan’s Dogs for Diabetes), volunteers with various organizations such as her church, Toastmasters, and the Alzheimer’s Association.

Most of Lil’s time is focused on DCubed, the nonprofit organization that partners with the parents of children diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.  DCube assists with the process for acquiring a Diabetic Alert Dog (D.A.D) to help children live a better life.

Meet John

Dcubed President

John is the Senior Minister at Huntsville Christian Church in Huntsville AL, Chaplain for the Harvest Volunteer fire department, and for radio station WAY-FM in Huntsville.

Johns served as Dylan’s Dogs for Diabetes President since its 2014 inception. John “Phatrok” believes the solution to the world’s problems is contained within ordinary people. It’s the legal hassles and hurdles that often stop them from taking the first step to reach their dream. That’s why he and his wife, Mitzi, have encouraged Dylan every step of the way on this journey to help improve the quality of life for those with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D).

Phatrok's inspired by Dylan’s compassion for others and his focus to never let T1D get in the way of his intended goal.

LOCAL & REGEONAL

A Movement, Not Just a Mission

Dylan’s Dogs for Diabetes grew from one father’s determination into a community-driven nonprofit.

Today DCubed:

  • Educates families about Type 1 Diabetes
  • Helps remove financial barriers for medical supplies
  • Trains and places diabetic alert dogs with children
  • Supports families long after placement

The world isn’t perfect. Type 1 Diabetes still has no cure. But every dog trained gives a child more safety. Every family supported gains more hope.
